This department specializes in legal reference and research collections. These published reports are very brief. They are largely concerned with: the department's Legislative Reference Section's activities and it's work with the General Assembly; the department's effort to supply branch libraries and courthouses with law books and related materials; and lists of all accessions by title and author.

Collection includes several publications, including 1931 - 1941, Library Progress in Georgia, 1840 - 1940; Georgia Women - A Record of Achievement; 1918, Annual Report of the State Librarian; 1926 - 1935, The Georgia State Library; and 1936 - 1946, Highlights of a Decade.
