It also includes a copy of a speech on the historical development of Columbus College by the Muscogee County School Superintendent (1946 - 1973), William Henry Shaw, at the opening of the permanent campus on January 6, 1963.

As is true of similar publications produced by virtually every academic institution, these general catalogs, sometimes called bulletins, contain information on the university and its predecessor institutions. Included are such things as admission requirements, academic regulations, lists of courses offered and lists of faculty members. Each volume is usually issued several times each academic year which explains the volume and item numbers.

These bulletins contain a calendar for the coming year which shows the date of registration, when classes began and final examination for each quarter.
