This series contains correspondence and reference material relating to various clubs, organizations, orders etc., which were asked to plan activities in conjunction with the bicentennial celebration. These groups fall into several categories: (1) fraternal organizations, (2) patriotic organizations, (3) other state organizations, (4) organizations outside the state, and (5) State agencies.

This is a small series of several folders which deal with ways to accomplish the goals of the Bicentennial Commission. These records are primarily concerned with plans for establishing statewide committees to accomplish specific aspects of the Bicentennial celebration (i.e. graphic arts, drama and pageantry, historical window display committee).

The correspondence is filed under: (1) the name of the member of the Executive Committee to whom it was written, and (2) the name of a person with whom the committee members found it necessary to correspond regularly.

This series contains statements in response to inquiries for information on various phases of the Georgia Bicentennial Commission's work, press releases issued from the Executive Director (A.R. Rogers) about specific activities, publications stating the purpose of the Commission and information pertinent to education about the state of Georgia, and miscellaneous correspondence relating to specific publicity plans.
