This series contains a wide variety of materials pertaining to the granting of land lots, or the purchase of fractional lots, in Georgia’s land lotteries. Documents include affidavits, certificates, correspondence, powers of attorney, and others relating to ownership or transfer of land lots or fractions. Not all land lots are represented.

Scope and Contents These volumes record the names of all fortunate drawers in Georgia's last five lotteries. Each entry includes the name of the fortunate drawer; the location of the land drawn by district and land lot number, section for Cherokee only; and the county or district of residence of the individual at the time of registration for the lottery. The status of many participants is given, as: W.R.S., for widow of Revolutionary soldier; orphan(s); or Sol., which denotes a soldier or veteran...

This series contains four volumes that record the names of all participants in the 1805 Land Lottery. Recorded along with the names of participants are the results of each draw in the lottery, either a "blank" or a "prize", the latter being a land lot.
