Scope and Contents

This series consists of Annual Reports of the Georgia Surface Mined Land Use Board. These reports include: (1) information on all activities included in surface mining in Georgia, supplemented by illustrations, maps and charts; (2) pictures of the current members of the Board; (3) financial statement for the fiscal year, and (4) projected needs and objectives for the coming year.

Scope and Contents This series contains the Surface Mined Land Use Board minutes, committee minutes, rules and regulations as formulated at the Board meetings and related correspondence. Thus, these records document all phases of the Board's operation from its inception in 1968 to the Georgia governmental reorganization of 1972. This series contains the Proceedings of the Georgia Surface Mined Land Use Board Symposium on the Rehabilitation of Drastically Disturbed Surface Mined Lands. The proceedings contain talks by participants on the environmental results of surface mining and suggested idea, for reclamation. A list of those attending is included.
