This series contains original coroner's inquests and other records of the Coroner's Office of Walton county. Specific documents include (1) coroner's inquests, (2) coroner's pay requests, (3) coroner's jury findings and (4) jury proceedings. These inquests were generally made upon the bodies of murder victims. However, some of these records show inquests on persons who had died of natural causes. The jury's findings and proceedings were based upon these inquests. Also included are the fees charged to the county treasurer by the court of ordinary for payment for the coroner's services.
