This series contains documents relating to the construction and operation of animal waste treatment facilities connected with businesses such as dairies and hog parlors. Included are: (1) plans, (2) specifications, (3) construction and operating permits, and (4) correspondence concerning construction. The permits include important legal agreements on the part of operators of animal waste facilities in which they agree to meet certain conditions in order to maintain their permits. Consequently, these records are valuable in documenting the role of government in improving the environment. These files are closely related to other waste treatment files in this record group and sub-group and in RGSG 26-7.
