Environmental Protection Division - Solid Waste Management - Long Range Solid Waste Management Plans
Scope and Contents
The Municipal Solid Waste Control Program of the Land Protection Branch is responsible for the review of solid waste handling systems of counties and municipalities throughout the State. This series consists of information on the various systems as they existed as of January 1, 1975, plus planned improvements with an implementation schedule attached. The information is generally contained in draft and final reports on the solid waste systems with a typical report containing (1) an introduction, (2) summary and recommendations, (3) physical settings and characteristics, (4) present solid waste practices, (5) future conditions, (6) objectives, (7) plan for action and (8) an appendix. Also included, but not necessarily with the reports, are (1) memorandums, (2) correspondence, (3) audit reports and (4) related papers which are generally letters from the political entities involved stating their concurrence with the plans and agreement to the implementation schedules.
