This series consists of original and copied material relating to the procurement of federal funds for the construction and operation of waste water treatment facilities under the provisions of the Federal Water Pollution Control Act, as amended (33 USC 466 et.seq.). (R04-1584-64) (4) Assurance of Compliance with HEW, Civil Rights Act of 1964 (HEW-441) (5) environmental assessment form (6) Application for Federal Assistance (EPA form 5700-12) (7) blueprints and cost estimates (8) warranty deeds and contracts (9) reimbursement grants and (10) related correspondence. Upon application for a grant for sewage treatment, the Commissioner of the Federal Water Pollution Control Administration, acting in behalf of the United States of America, offers to make a federal grant to the applicant in order to aid in financing the construction of the project pursuant to the Federal Water Pollution Control Act, as amended. These grants will provide important statistical data in determining cost trends, construction time and equipment being used at each facility as time goes by. Among other things, the Environmental Protection Division is responsible for the maintenance and improvement of the state’s environmental quality through research, program development and the enforcement of regulatory legislation in the area of water quality control.
