Scope and Contents
This series consists of original and photocopied material pertaining to the administration of the Water Resources Management Program and the Safe Dams program of the Environmental Protection Division. Included in the series are (1) correspondence, (2) memoranda, (3) project and study files, (4) federal and state legislation (5) speeches and (6) general information relating to management of water resources and dam safety. There are also extra copies of hydrologic reports mixed in. The Water Resource Management Branch of the EPD performs functions related to water quantity management in Georgia. This includes surface and ground water permit programs, river basin studies, coordination with other state and federal agencies' water resources projects and programs. The Branch also administers the Safe Dam Program including "permitting" of dams.
