Scope and Contents
The Georgia Supreme Court was created by an amendment to the 1798 state constitution but enabling legislation was not passed until 1845. This series contains volumes which document both proceedings and opinions of the Georgia Supreme Court on cases brought before it. The cases rendered are titled by both plaintiff and defendant. Proceedings are similar to the Minute Books of the Georgia Supreme Court in that they specify what action either the higher court or lower court took regarding the cases.
