This series contains the minutes of the Children's Benefit Fund Committee which was a committee that handled special funds for the youth being maintained at the Youth Development Center in Milledgeville, Ga. These minutes consist primarily of discussion among the Board members concerning expenditures for such things as trips to attend sporting events, rewards for "no-runaways" (candy bars, trips to Dairy Queen, Christmas gifts, etc.), and occasionally special items that were not in the Department's budget: gym shoes, picnic shelter materials, tickets to send someone home, or money for Boy Scout registration. Included in the minutes are receipts from charitable institutions and from individuals who contributed to the Children's Fund.
