Scope and Contents
This series contains documents relating to the distribution of information to the news media and the public from the Educational Programs Section of the Georgia Department of Archives and History. The files consist of news clippings and press releases. A sampling of publicity contained in these files includes: (1) a seminar of "Cultural Archives"; (2) special activities commemorating the founding of Georgia; (3) donation of Gov. Jimmy Carter's administrative records to the Archives; (4) Archives sponsorship of a workshop on oral history; (5) public activities at Rhodes Memorial Hall; (6) weekend tours of Oakland Cemetery; (7) microfilming of local records; (8) restoration of historic homes in Georgia; (9) happenings in the Secretary of State's Office; and (10) Vanishing Georgia miscellany.

The news clippings are taped to sheets of paper and are identified as to the newspaper they came from. They are foldered and arranged chronologically by year and alphabetically by general subject matter. The press releases are foldered and arranged chronologically by date.
