Scope and Contents

This series contains minutes of the proceedings of the monthly meetings of the Governor's Special Council on Family Planning and subsidiary committees. The Special Council minutes deal with topics such as status of Federal planning, regulation of abortion in Georgia, a marriage license information bill, funding of sterilization programs, problems of teenage pregnancies, priorities of a new fiscal period, etc. The minutes of the Patient Advisory Committee, a subsidiary committee, deal with Title XX, Title X and the development of Georgia's Health System Agencies, family planning legislation, family planning statistics, reports on the A-95 review process, problems encountered in implementing guidelines for Health Department personnel, etc. The Governor's Special Council establishes or authorizes the establishment of overall supervision of the Family Planning Agency. The minutes of the Community Awareness Committee, another subsidiary committee, deal with the Committee's task to raise the level of the community conscience of teenage pregnancy, the Communiversity Program, long and short term goals of the Committee, budget allotments, etc.
