This series contains the state's copies of the Higher Education General Information Survey's Inventory of College and University Physical Facilities form and related papers. This statistical form surveys all public and private colleges in Georgia annually with respect to physical facilities in order to coordinate statewide planning for the expansion and improvement of postsecondary education in the state. The form consists of four major parts. The first provides useful data both as to the adequacy of the amount of space and as to requirements of replace and remodel current space. Part B indicates the distribution of available space according to the use made of it, thus permitting judgments as to quantitative adequacy of the various types of space. Part C provides information which permits assessments regarding the functional distribution of space. Part D provides data pertaining to the adequacy of college or university housing. Among the related papers are (1) instructions for filling out the forms, (2) contracts between the Georgia Higher Education Facilities Commission and professional consulting firms to perform detailed studies of the colleges and universities in Georgia.
