Scope and Contents
The administration of estates of deceased persons in Georgia was overseen by the Inferior Court, a common law court established in each county by the Georgia Constitution of 1789. A constitutional amendment of 1852 provided for a separate court of ordinary for each county which took on the inferior court's probate function. This series contains: (1) annual returns, (2) inventories and appraisements, (3) returns on sales of property, (4) settlements, (5) guardians' bonds, and (6) administrator's bonds.
