These published annual and biennial reports of the State Highway Board (which became the State Transportation Board) are summaries of the Department's activities during the period covered. Although the content varies from year to year, most reports contain a report by the State Highway Engineer and information on the activities of each division of the Department. Many charts and tables are included which give information on all aspects of highway planning, including: (1) construction and maintenance, (2) breakdowns of revenues and expenditures, (3) tabulations of highways completed or under construction, (4) analyses of traffic load, (5) numbers of vehicles registered, and (6) similar information. Many of the tables are itemized by county. Some reports contain texts of Georgia and Federal laws affecting the Department and its work. Most reports have photographs of various aspects of highway construction.
