Writ dockets contain legal orders issued by the court commanding the person to whom they are directed to perform or refrain from performing a specified act. This series is composed of a single bound volume containing such orders associated with civil complaints filed in the court. Information presented in this volume includes: (1) name of litigants (2) type of charge complained of (3) orders (writs) issued to specified city or county officials (Sheriffs) to remedy such complaints (4) date that petition for writ to be issued was recorded in Clerk's office (5) exhibits of promissory notes, unpaid accounts and other supporting papers.

Entries are arranged and listed in chronological order by date of when the petition for writ to be issued was recorded in the Clerk's office. The volume includes an index in which the petitioners for writs are arranged and listed in alphabetical order by the initial letter of their surname. Most of the complaints filed in the court for the inclusive dates listed were for unpaid promissory notes and accounts.
