This series is composed of affidavits or oaths in which the party of the first part making the affidavit promises to perform a service or pay a certain amount of cash or commodities or other things of value to a certain party of the second part.These affidavits include the names of the two parties , a description of the agreement in question and the date of the affidavit. The subjects of these affidavits included the purchase of land, contracting to teach school, defining and surveying plots of land and declarations of age in order to avoid poll tax.
