This 33-page publication was designed to acquaint the general public with the history of the State Law Department from its inception to the current date. It also contains brief biographical sketches of the fifty attorneys general who have led t h e Department through the years. Many likenesses of these men are also included. The biographies are arranged chronologically by years of service and are grouped into the following time periods: Colonial period; Post-colonial period; Milledgeville period; and Constitutional officers period dating from after the adoption of the Constitution of 1868 which defined specific duties for the Attorney General to the present.
