Industry and Trade - Public Relations - European Trade Mission Slides
Scope and Contents
This series consists of several hundred color slides taken during a 1962 European Trade Mission under the supervision of Mr, Jack J. Minter, Director of the Department of Commerce. Governor Ernest Vandiver was the ranking state official on the trip, it being accepted practice to have the Governor lead such important international trade missions. Unfortunately, these slides do not document the mission because most are completely unidentified as to location or, in the case of group photographs, individuals present. It may be ascertained from familiar landmarks or a few labels, that the Georgia delegation visited Amsterdam, Berlin. Milan and Paris as well as some Alpine locations. There are numbers on many of the slides, but their significance, without an inventory, is unclear.
