Constitutional Revision Commission - 1964 Commission - Subject Files
Scope and Contents
This series contains correspondence with Commission members, state and federal officials and the general public, copies of excerpts from publications, schedules for public hearings on the proposed Constitution, notes from the desk of P.T. McCutchen and opinions of the Georgia Attorney General. Though the volume of records is small and much of the correspondence is of the housekeeping variety, the list of file folder labels below documents many of the agencies and authorities with which the Commission dealt to aid its deliberations. Besides the Attorney General, on whom the Commission obviously relied for legal advice, it is interesting to note the amount of correspondence carried on with Dr. Albert B. Saye, a professor of political science at the University of Georgia and an authority on the constitutions of Georgia, heads of other college political science departments and the Advisory Commission on Inter-governmental Relations in Washington.
