Constitutional Revision Commission - 1969 Commission - Committee Working Papers and Constitutional Drafts
Scope and Contents
This series contains: (1) various rough drafts of the 1969 proposed Constitution, often referred to according to the color of paper on which they were typed; (2) various individual changes to the drafts; (3) the comments and recommendations of Dr. William H. Agnor of Emory University; (4) cross reference charts arranged by article for the 1945, 1964 proposed and 1969 proposed Constitutions, and (5) the working papers of the Senate Judiciary Committee which also contributed its version of the proposed Constitution. This series thus indicates the diversity of opinion on the revision process and the complexity of it. Many of the rough drafts, for example, are handwritten copies on yellow legal pads and many of the revisions involve only one sentence or even just a few words. Each specific revision proposal is printed on a separate sheet of paper. The cross reference charts are extremely interesting research tools in comparing the work of three constitutional revision commissions.
