This series contains several legal documents pertaining to the certification of Georgia's twelve Presidential Electors. The first is entitled Credentials of Presidential Electors. It includes the names and votes certified for all slates of Electors and all write in candidates for the Presidency and Vice-Presidency of the United States. This document bears the signatures of the Governor and Secretary of State. The second document is entitled Credentials of Substitute Presidential Elector and is employed only when one or more of the elected slate of Electors finds it impossible to attend the convention in the State Capitol to cast the ballots. The document identifies the substitute or substitutes and is signed by the Governor and the Secretary of State. The third document is entitled Certificate of Presidential Electors from Georgia. It stipulates that the duly elected Electors convened as prescribed by law on the appointed date and cast their ballots for President and Vice-President of the United States as indicated.
