This series includes: (1) notebooks containing the GOAL calendar (2) coordinator's list (3) schedule of meetings (4) promotional materials including a slide presentation (5) state judges' list (6) Proficiency Recognition Indicating Demonstrated Excellence(PRIDE) award materials (7) planning committee notes (8) winners' book (9) other related documents The GOAL program was created in 1971 by the Department of Education in cooperation with the Georgia Chamber of Commerce to recognize the importance and expected growth of vocational education in the state. The award, an automobile, is presented annually to an outstanding postsecondary vocational technical school student. The PRIDE award, $1,000, is given to the student demonstrating the highest occupational proficiency.
