Georgia Historical Commission - Director's Office - Scrapbooks
Scope and Contents
This series consists of newspaper clippings that relate to publicity on every phase of the Georgia Historical Commission's activities. These include archaeological investigations, restoration and maintenance of historic sites and the erection of historical markers throughout the state. The clippings are bound in six scrapbooks dating from 1953 to 1956. There are, in addition, a separate scrapbook for the historical marker program beginning in 1952 and three scrapbooks devoted to historic sites restored by the Commission, a total of ten scrapbooks in all. The newspaper clippings are pasted in the scrapbooks chronologically within each year.
