This series consists of statistical reports generally in the form of computer printouts and specialized forms created by the Statistical Services Section of the Department of Education. These reports are necessary for the allocation of state educational funds and for the use of the Department of Education in responding to requests for use of data from other agencies, both State and Federal. Being of a statistical nature, many of the forms require a certain knowledge for interpretation. The Statistical Services Section is charged with the responsibility of designing, installing and maintaining systems for the collection, analysis, reporting and publication of educational data in order to insure research and development within the framework of overall educational strategy. These activities include (but are not limited to) design, publication and distribution of forms and instructions; providing for periodic submission of data from local school systems; manipulation and analysis of data received and reporting or publication of findings. The section also provides an informational system which insures that information requested from School Systems is not duplicated within the Department.
