Scope and Contents

These field letters are similar to memorandums from the Director. They are addressed to various audiences ranging from all Department personnel to all field office managers, and deal with policy and procedure changes, veterans' legislation amendments and current events which could affect the normal operation of the Department. A second category includes normal Departmental personnel matters which are very similar if not identical to those of other State departments. The field letters dealing with policy and procedure supplement the Field Office Manuals of Series 7.
