Scope and Contents

This series contains yet another department publication which changed format at least once in the course of its existence. Described by its editors as a professional publication established to serve as a forum for the discussion of pertinent issues in the field of corrections, the views expressed in its various articles could differ with those of the department's administration. The contents do maintain a high scholarly tone. Editorials and articles in a typical issue would include (1) psychological studies of inmates at various Georgia institutions, (2) behavioral assessments, (3) an article on laboratory training, (4) an assessment of intergroup camping and delinquency prevention programs, (5) a feasibility study of conjugal visitation, (6) a guest editorial, (7) book reviews, (8) brief biographies of contributing authors and (9) lists of research projects in progress, correctional events scheduled and professional employment opportunities. At first three issues per year were announced, then four and finally two. The latter change represented a major one in format as well. The physical dimensions of the publication increased, as did the number of photographic essays and interviews.
