Scope and Contents
This series consists of copies of the minutes taken at the various meetings held by Superior Court Judges of Fulton County to discuss legal issues regarding pardons and paroles and other such topics. These minutes are official. Topics discussed concern: (1) opinions of the Attorney General dealing with clemency requests by Judge after term of Court has expired; (2) current methods of testing Probation-Parole Supervisors; (3) feedback from Judges on how the Board can better serve them; (4) making probationers more aware of law governing credit of time while AWOL from supervising court; (5) need for maximum security holding facility for inmates on appeal; (6) methods to deal with maximum security inmates in county jails; and (7) use of Probation/Parole Supervisors to aid in the apprehension of escapees. The Office of Director of Offender Rehabilitation serves as executive officer of the Board. He administers the penal system of the State of Georgia. Among his responsibilities are (1) the establishment, operation and supervision of penal institutions to include county work camps; (2) the development, issuance and enforcement of regulations; (3) administration of personnel and (4) establishment, conducting and supervision of a rehabilitation program involving academic, industrial, mechanical, agricultural and vocational training.
