Commonly referred to as "the green books", these volumes contain the minutes of standing committees of the Georgia Senate. Most entries are very brief, showing only the date of the meeting, the names of committee members present and a list of the bills and resolutions considered with the committee recommendation concerning each. A few committees kept more detailed minutes by naming persons appearing before the committee and whether they spoke for or against the proposed legislation. The number of standing committees changes from session to session. Some of the earlier books are more "committee calendars" than minutes since they are arranged numerically by bill number and show the committee action on each. There is a separate volume for each committee. There are no indexes.
