Scope and Contents
This series consists of a bound Conductors' Cash Received Book for funds received by train conductors or an agent en route. The volume lists the: (1) date, (2) payee or conductor, (3) dollar amount, (4) signature of payor, (5) location of the station, and (6) whether the amount was in cash or check. At each station, the station agent delivered a sealed and addressed package containing cash funds to the conductor who presumably delivered the sealed package through the Master of Transportation to the Treasurer. Each page has three "receipts" to a side.
