This series contains the minutes of the monthly and special meetings of the Georgia State Board of Natural Resources. Each meeting usually includes reports from the commissioner, the deputy commissioner and the directors' of the various divisions of this multi-faceted department. Among the subjects discussed at a typical meeting would be: (1) hunting and fishing regulations and amendments thereto, (2) budgetary matters, (3) development of new state parks and historic sites, (4) training sessions for department personnel, (5) environmental protection matters including hearings on industrial pollution cases, (6) necessary legislation promoted by the department, (7) board membership matters, and (8) tours of inspection by board members of parks and historic sites. This series is closely related to minutes of departments dating from the years before the governmental reorganization of 1972 merged them into the new Department of Natural Resources.
