Scope and Contents
This series contains replies to a letter written by Governor Eugene Talmadge to various persons requesting them to serve as First Vice-Presidents to the Honorary Committee of the Georgia Bicentennial. Honorary President was to be President-elect Franklin Delano Roosevelt and representatives asked to serve with him included: (1) consuls of foreign governments, (2) judges of superior courts, (3) judges of state courts of appeals, (4) Georgia Supreme Court judges, (5) state senators, (6) state representatives, (7) governors of the original thirteen colonies,(8) Georgia members of the United States Congress, (9) mayors of all Georgia towns, (10) business leaders, (11) federal office holders in Georgia.
