Scope and Contents
Letters are largely by Cassie and her children with considerable correspondence by Clinton also. They describe family relations, domestic arrangements, and various lines of work, such as schoolteaching, journalism, and banking. Included are personal business records, a diary, and some photographs.

Biographical / Historical
Cassie L. [Lovett] Brown Bryson (b. ca. 1859 - 1931) daughter of Thomas Brown and Eliza Brown from Greene County, Georgia. Cassie remained in Greene County, Georgia and married J. T. (James T.) Bryson (1848 - 1934) in May of 1880. Over the following years the family can be found in Greene County, Georgia (U.S. Census - Greene County, Georgia, 1900, 1910, and 1930). Cassie had three children, Ethel, Thomas Jefferson, and M. Turner Bryson. Ethel was married to W. Clinton Thompson; and Thomas J., to Edith Williams.
Cassie L. Bryson died in 1931 (Georgia death certificate) and her will is available online through Ancestry.com.
