Bethany Baptist Church was founded on December 27, 1850 in Cherokee County, Georgia. The church later moved to Fulton County, Georgia. Bethany Community in Cherokee County, took its name from Bethany Baptist Church.

Custodial History
The volume was first retained by David M. Oliver, Church Clerk. The volume was then passed down to his son, Cicero C. Oliver, who at the 100 year celebration of the church, returned the record book to the church. The original was then in the possession of the Church Clerk, Horace Strikland.
