This collection includes a two-page typescript memoir, which describes Henry W.R. Maxwell's military service during the Civil War. Maxwell enlisted in 1861, immediately after college, in the 4th Regt. GA Vols., Co. A, where he was apparently on the muster roll as Richard H. He later served in Forrest's Cavalry, perhaps listed on the 2nd Regt. GA Cav., Co. K, muster roll as Richard M.
