Scope and Contents
This series consists of incoming correspondence and subject files of the governors of Georgia from 1781 to the present. In addition to correspondence and subject files, records include requests for executive clemency; appointments to public office; permission to form militia units; and invitations to special events. The records also document counties, state agencies, election matters, citizen complaints, extradition of convicts and fugitives, and the Western and Atlantic Railroad.
