This series contains: (1) correspondence, (2) memorandums, (3) weekly activity reports, (4) membership rosters, (5) mailing lists, (6) minutes of meetings, (7) newsletters, (8) cooperative agreements with other archival institutions, (9) indexes, (10) bibliographic guides, and (11) other records documenting all phases of the administration of the Archive Division, one of three in the Department of Archives and History. This series is not really a subject file as the title indicates. Except for some very broad subject groupings, the file folder labels merely identify types of record rather than true subject files.

Arrangement Note

The arrangement of the series is rather unusual. There is a large group of files in the series with apparently no arrangement other than a broad subject heading. The file folder labels in this batch sometimes indicate specific subjects. The remainder of the series is more traditionally arranged chronologically by year and then alphabetically by type of record or subject area of record but almost never by subject. A complete listing of file folder labels follows below.
