Scope and Contents
This series contains the minutes of the monthly meetings of the Georgia Game and Fish Commission. Among the subjects discussed by the Commission members are: (1) hunting and fishing regulations and changes therein, (2) recommendations from the federal government and the Georgia General Assembly as to amendments to the game and fish laws, (3) requests from citizens concerning amendments to Commission regulations and reciprocity agreements, (4) pollution problems in Georgia's lakes, rivers and coastal seas, (5) water impoundment matters, and (6) members joining and leaving the Commission. Often private citizens testify before the Commission or have letters read into the minutes. Exhibits often appended to the minutes include: (1) copies of bills and resolutions of the General Assembly, (2) copies of new or amended game and fish regulations, (3) petitions from citizens groups requesting action by the Commission, (4) certifications by the chairman of new regulations promulgated during the meetings, and (5) executive orders appointing members to the Commission.
