This series consists of correspondence between County Health Department Directors, District Health Directors, and the Georgia Department of Public Health Director documenting the appointment and certification of members of County Boards of Health. This function of the Georgia Department of Public Health was assumed by the Department of Community Services of the Department of Human Resources after 1972. Later, the Department of Family and Children Services took over creation of these records. Also included are files for each Health District documenting counties' 1970 requests for incorporation into particular health districts. See 24-1-63 for files beginning in 1977 under the direction of the Department of Family and Children Services.
