Scope and Contents
This series contains correspondence from private or official sources received by the Superintendent of the Georgia Retardation Center and his replies thereto. Also included are memos and statements documenting the policies formulated and decisions made by the Superintendent and not always contained in official minutes or publications, papers related to the therapeutic, clinical training and research interests of the institution, letters and forms reflecting the Superintendent's actions on programs for out-patient and in-patient care to the mentally ill and on medical, administrative and personnel services for staff and patients, documents reflecting manpower and training actions and community program decisions and supporting papers. This series thus documents all areas of responsibility and interest of the Superintendent of this State-operated facility for the mentally retarded in the performance of his supervisory duties.
