This series consists of recorded copies of mortgages filed with the Clerk. Most of the mortgages are for chattels although some real estate mortgages are included. Information provided in these volumes includes: (1) name of mortgagor; (2) name of mortgagee; (3) a description of the mortgaged property; (4) names of witnesses; (5) date of mortgage; (6) the amount of money loaned and interest stipulated, and (7) a cancellation of the mortgage written across the face of the instrument. In most instances the property covered consists of vehicles and household furniture and appliances.
