Civil War Centennial Commission - Chairman - News Radio Programs Tape Recordings
Scope and Contents
This series consists of 27 reels of magnetic tape recordings of Civil War Centennial News prepared by the Commission to be presented on radio stations all over the State. The tapes were prepared by the Protestant Radio and Television Center in Atlanta and the commentator was Jerry Vanderenter, an Atlanta commercial radio personality who donated his time free of charge. The format was based generally on historically accurate news items of the war period. In each reel carton there is a printed introduction and conclusion for each program identifying the source of the tapes but not the content, for which there are no finding aids.
