Scope and Contents
This series consists of ten reels of film each containing a thirty minute lecture of the history of the War Between the States produced in February, 1961 in cooperation with Emory University, the State Department of Commerce and WAGA-TV. The lecturer was Col. Allen P. Julian, U.S. Army, Ret., an expert on the War and then Director of the Atlanta Historical Society. These films were shown on virtually all Georgia commercial television stations and on several Alabama, Florida, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina and Ohio stations as well. A study outline and reading list accompanied the lectures, but no copies accompany the films.
