Scope and Contents
Civil dockets are used by the Justice and Superior Courts to document civil complaints filed in the Justice Court and the judgment resulting from such complaints. The information each volume provides includes (1) date and term of court, (2) Georgia Militia District name or number of court, (3) names of parties involved, (4) names of attorneys (often not given), (5) style of case involved, (6) constable's entry concerning service of copy of complaint on defendants, (7) remarks, (8) nature of judgment rendered and (9) enumeration of Justice's and Constable's cost.
