The Community Data Unit collects and retains information used in the compilation of community profiles containing socioeconomic data for approximately 240 communities in the State, This series consists of the printed copies of each profile for each city for each year a profile was compiled, the incidence of compilation varies from city to city and a date code appears on the back of each form. The code consists of three numbers, the first two indicating the month, and the last the year of compilation. For example a code of 113 would mean of compilation date of November, 1973. Data consistently given on these profiles includes the following: (1) Location of the city including distance from Atlanta, (2) Population of city and county in which it is located for three census periods, (3) List of local manufacturers including products and number of employees, (4) County labor analysis including: (a) total employment, (b) manufacturing and non-manufacturing employment, (c) sex breakdowns of work force, (d) agricultural employment and (e) recruit-able workers indicating commuting distance from city and sex, (5) Transportation available, (6) Utilities, (7) Property tax structure, (8) Commercial services including: (a) industrial support services, (b) communications media, (c) public accommodations, (d) financial facilities and (e) industrial development organizations (9) Municipal services, (10)Available industrial properties, (11) Health facilities, (12) Educational facilities of all levels, (13) Recreation facilities, (14) Religious and civic club facilities, and (15) Local industrial development contacts.
