Scope and Contents
This series consists of bound volumes of area economic evaluations prepared by the Industrial Economic Research Staff of the State Engineering Experiment Station, Georgia School of Technology for the Chamber of Commerce of the area studied as well as for the Agricultural and Industrial Development Board of Georgia. Each report generally contains a preface followed by an evaluation of the (1) area studied, (2) history of the area, (3) weather, (4) population, (5) housing, (6) income, (7) agriculture, (8) labor force, (9) industry, (10) taxes, (11) water, (12) county summaries and (13) maps (of railways and highways including traffic flows). The reports are a part of the station's broad program of economic development for Georgia and the Southeast. The full report describes the human and natural resources and the economic background of the area studied and indicates the industrial and economic activities which can beneficially be added to the industrial pattern existing in the area.
