Constitutional Revision Commission - 1964 Commission - Governor's Special Committee for Statutory-Constitutional Coordination Files
Scope and Contents
This series contains: (1) the minutes, (2) forms, (3) Committee membership rosters, (4) memorandums, (5) proposed work schedules, (6) sample ballots for constitutional amendments and vote totals, (7) a checklist indicating Commission members' approval of the work and expense of the Committee, (8) sub-committee assignment lists, and (9) related correspondence.
The Committee was composed of young attorneys who were charged with the responsibility of engaging in the necessary legal research to determine those statutes needed to implement the proposed Constitution, and thus the Committee worked closely with the Commission and even divided its sub-committees to correspond to those of the Commission. The only documentation extant, however, of the scope of the work of the Committee is to be found in the lengthy two-page report format form. Unfortunately none of the reports has survived.
