Parks and Historic Sites - Recreation Services Section - Recreation In Georgia (Newsletter)
Scope and Contents
This series contains a bound volume containing what is probably a complete set of the bi-monthly newsletter of the Georgia Recreation Committee. Also bound into this volume are three very brief commission annual reports and two issues of Georgia Recreator, the official publication of The Georgia Recreation and Park Society, Inc. A typical issue of Recreation in Georgia might contain very brief articles on: (1) personnel changes in the public recreation field nationally (2) professional conferences, congresses and conventions (3) administrative changes in Georgia and neighboring states (4) job opportunities (5) new recreation facilities (6) grants available and awarded (7) degrees offered at state institutions and (8) an editorial. Each issue is copiously illustrated with particular emphasis on individual and group views taken at professional gatherings.

Arrangement Note
The issues are bound in chronological order by date and numerical order by volume and issue numbers. The two sets of numbers do not, however, coincide from one year to the next. For example, Volume 1, Number 1, is dated August-September with no year indicated. The next issue is dated October-November but is also numbered Volume 1, Number 1. Consequently, by the time Volume 4, Number 1 comes up, the dates are January-February, 1970. Regardless of this lack of consistency in numbering and dating, a complete set of publications is presumed to be present.
